I find this really interesting because i was able to combine two art forms that I love and create one unique piece of imagery. I take photographs mainly with perspective in mind, I believe it can completely change the way someone analyzes the photograph and perceives it.

I took this photo in my Highkey studio at Spain Park. I find this photograph interesting because it reminds me of how you should always keep your passions on your mind. I like to take pictures with many different angles, and I like them to show a lot of emotion.

This photo is called pink flowers. I took this on a hill by my dad's house. I love this picture because I like how bright the flowers are. The picture just gives a happy feeling looking at it. I just zoomed in on the flowers and brightened the flowers and put a shadow on the picture.

I took the book Too Kill a Mockingbird outside so it could have natural light on it. I then opened it in a way that another page was coming onto it up you could still the words of the title page. When I was editing it I noticed the black and white version of the photo looked more elegant and the lighting looked soft.

This picture is titled carousel. I took this picture at the Birmingham Zoo last Monday. I found it interesting because of the zebra. I love how it stands out from the rest of the animals. It reminded me of an old carnival ride. I used to love riding carousels when I was little and I still do.

2016 - Visual Arts Achievement Program

One of the toughest decisions I have to make every year is what to send to the State Arts Council exhibit.

This is made even tougher this year as I have one of the most talented group of students I've ever taught.

Congratulations to Merritt Huey, Yana Vickery,  Lauren Frusterio, and Rachel Cunningham for having your work selected to go.

I took this picture at my church at the beginning of the school year. I love how the colors glow. Also, I like how symmetrical the picture is.

I took this picture in the studio when trying to take portraits. This was the first shot that i took and i accidentally only turned one of the lights on exposing only half of her face. I ended up not using this picture for portraits but i've always had it and kind of liked it.

Leaves. I took this photograph at Veterans Park and edited it with photoshop. I find the shadows of the leaves to be quite compelling. I take photographs based on what pleases my senses the most.

This photograph was made in my home studio.
This image is very compelling based off the clarity, lighting, black and white filter, and the uniqueness of the composition. Using shadows and positioning of the model in portrait allow for artistic value. There are no distractions in the image and the girl pictured is the main focus. Studio portraits are simple to take yet can be edited and posed in several eye appealing ways.

I took this photograph at the lake down the road from my house. I find this photo interesting because after I was done perfecting it I really liked how the final product turned out.

Kaleigh C - A Maasai Morning

A Maasai Morning. taken in Tanzania, Africa, in June 2015. It's an absolutely beautiful site, the photograph doesn't capture the full effect of the sunrise in person, but it's still beautiful even in photograph. When It was 10:00 at night here in Alabama, it was 5:00 in the morning there.  Although you can't tell, imagine a sunrise here and multiply it by 100 and that will still not summarize the sunrise in Africa.
